Learning Objectives: 1. Demonstrates competency in performing a holistic nursing assessment. 2. Organizaes and interprets health assessment findings of the individual patient. 3. Investigates and identifies health assessment tools for alternative situations. 4. Explains modifications for health assessment based on individual patients' needs. 5. Applies teaching and learning theories and concepts to individuals of diverse backgrounds and literacy levels to facilitate participation in learning. 6. Demonstrates respect for other individuals' values and the consequences of literacy for health. 7. Explains how health care access is affected by the elements of literacy, culture, race, religion, gender, age, and lifestyle.
